Bedbug Control and Monitoring

Bed Bug under an electron microscope

The occurrence of Bed Bug or Bedbug infestations is increasing steadily in the UK over the past 5 years.
Their presence may have a number of negative effects on our health, including skin rashes, psychological effects and allergic symptoms.
Diagnosis involves both finding bed bugs and the occurrence of compatible symptoms. Treatment is otherwise symptomatic

Dwellings can become infested with bedbugs in a variety of ways:

  • from bugs and eggs that “hitch hiked in” on clothing and luggage,
  • from infested items (e.g., furniture, clothes) brought in,
  • from a nearby dwelling or infested item, if there are easy routes, or
  • from wild animals (e.g. bats, birds) and pets brought in.

Eradication of bed bugs is time consuming and cannot be completed without the cooperation of the householder, as a successful treatment will frequently require a combination of pesticide and non pesticide approaches.
Pest Pro offers several Bed Bug monitoring devices and treatments types.
