Chip shop owner fined £3500 for having a rat infested shop
If only this chip shop owner had employed a professional pest controller to inspect his premises. He may not of fallen foul of the law.
The chip shop in Long Lane, Halesowen was found to be heavily infested with rats when the environmental health officers visited in August 2015.
The officers found evidence of rats in many areas of the shop. The shop was shut up for a week while pest controllers removed the rats.
When the environmental health officers visited 5 months later they found that the rats had infested the premises again, and that the premises was in need of proofing to stop the pests entering.
Jasbir and Sandeep Singh closed their shop, within a week the Singh’s had sold the shop.
