Yorks Bakery and Cafe closed by health chiefs after mice infestation

Proprietors attribute trouble on new city trams and pledge to reopen as usual
A popular Birmingham cafe has been shut due to being infested by mice – The proprietors are blaming the construction of the trams as the reason.
York’s Bakery and Cafe , was recently required to close up until more notice following inspectors spotted proof of the rats or rodents.
Birmingham City Council produced their closure order under the Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Notice, saying officials additionally discovered ‘poor housekeeping plus that ‘food had been exposed to the danger of contamination.’
Simon Ford who represents York’s said
“We shut immediately, however the closure was also enforced by the Environmental Health Officer. York’s are operating closely with EHO and Pest Control to resolve this matter as fast as possible”
